Welcome to Loving Heart Animal Shelter!
The Loving Heart Animal Shelter is a private, independent, 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation governed by a volunteer Board of Directors composed
of community members who are dedicated to animal welfare. We are funded primarily through private donations and service revenue. We are not controlled or funded by any statewide or national
organization. Donations made to national animal welfare groups do not benefit our local pets. We are based in Lafayette, Indiana.
WHAT WE DO
Loving Heart Animal Shelter is a no-kill animal shelter and adoption organization. Our shelter strives to create an environment which
enhances awareness of the humane treatment of animals. The mission of Loving Heart Animal Shelter is to rescue healthy and treatable dogs. This shall include, but is not limited to sick, injured and
abused animals, strays, and owner relinquished animals. We will nurture and restore them to happy healthy lives in loving permanent homes.
WE ARE FOSTER BASED... HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT FOSTERING?
We are in need of foster families for homeless dogs. A foster family takes care of a homeless dog until it can be placed in a permanent
home. It is a rewarding experience for the family and life-saving experience for the dog. Would you be willing to open your home to a homeless doggie in need? If so, please fill out the Foster Care Application.
