Amanda Oakley

Hi, my name is Amanda. I’ve been involved with Loving Heart Animal Shelter and other local shelters/rescues over the last several years. I was always happy to donate, sponsor, or volunteer. In 2022, I was given the opportunity to join the board at LHAS and was beyond excited to say YES! I have always loved animals - now I get the opportunity to help animals find their FUR-ever homes. I am excited to be a part of LHAS!

Audra Weideman

I began volunteering at Loving Heart in 2018. Soon I plan to open my new home to fluffy fosters. The dogs and cats at LHAS will forever have my heart. 

My responsibilities include animal care, walking dogs, fundraising, and helping at events. Seeing the positive personality changes after working with each animal is my motivation. I love making an impact on each innocent life. The most rewarding part of being involved with Loving Heart is to see dogs and cats being adopted by loving community residents.

I have been involved with shelter dogs since I retired at the end of 2011. I have volunteered at Loving Heart since 2019. The primary reason I volunteer is that I love working with the more difficult dogs, using patience to earn their trust. I was one of the few men to gain Reggie's trust and to know the love of shelter resident Noel.

Ali van Soest

Hi! My name is Ali and I am a volunteer for LHAS. I started working with Loving Heart Animal Shelter in 2017 as a dog foster. I had four fosters in my home before I became a foster failure (this means I officially adopted my foster dog, Ross!). After being a foster failure, I decided I wanted to continue to help with the shelter and began volunteering in any way that I could. I have now helped with shelter upkeep, fundraising events, adoptions, vet transports, and many other behind the scene aspects that go into saving these deserving animals! I love volunteering for this organization and supporting the community. Getting to hang out with adorable pups is an added perk!

Rebekah Schroeder

My name is Rebekah, and I have volunteered at Loving Heart since late 2015. Animals, especially dogs and cats in shelters, have always held a special place in my heart. My jobs as a volunteer include animal care, photography/occasional videography, processing intakes and adoptions, and website management/promotion of adoptable animals.
