I'm a animal lover from long ago. When I was a kid I would try to save every baby bunny or hug every stray dog I met. That passion carried over into adulthood. When I got my first dog, Brandon my golden retriever. He was with me for over 15 years. When I lost him in 2006, I decided to start volunteering at the local shelter. This is where I got my first experience of life and death in animal shelters, with the thought that I could and wanted to do more. I started Loving Heart Animal Shelter in 2009. I asked a few friends to help and share this experience with me. Now 8 years has gone by and some faces have changed, but we all have the same goal. Our goal is to make Loving Heart great and have a place to for all to call home. There have been so many faces over the years that have touched my heart and made me who I am today. I will never forget any of them and where they are now, all because Loving Heart gave them a chance for life and love.
Head of Fosters
I have loved animals for as long as I can remember, and when I was a young adult, I earned the nickname "The Dog Whisperer." Now, I live happily with my
husband, two teenage daughters, and three wonderful rescue dogs from Loving Heart Animal Shelter. I am a part-time Certified Massage Therapist, part-time substitute teacher, and full-time animal
However, as I have grown older, I have felt a need to do more. Understanding the horrific lives neglected, abused, and abandoned animals endure, brought me to the great team of people at Loving Heart. They are truly making a change for animals in need. I was both thrilled and humbled to join the Board of Directors in 2015. I know we will continue to make a difference-all it takes is love, hope, and action.
Fundraising & Events
Born and raised in Lafayette, I have always been the token "animal lover" but never knew the true realities. After graduating from Purdue, I work full time with Hallmark Home Mortgage as a Loan Officer and a Director with Scentsy. Both of which I am extreemly passionate about and love, but I was missing the last piece... I found that with Loving Heart Animal Shelter. I joined LHAS in January of 2012 and am Head of Fundraising and Events. I now feel complete, hoping that we are truly making a difference in the lives of animals that may have had no other choice. In January of 2013 I became Treasurer and we are working hard into 2015 to make our organization Bigger and Better...with a Building!
I have two girls and one boy of my own, four legged that is! Sophia is my 5 year old Brindle Bombshell Mixed Breed. Khloe is my LHAS foster failure, Rottie baby with one blue eye and one half blue, half brown eye.... yeah little creepy in the dark! And last but not least my baby boy Chance, another LH foster failure he most definitely chose us and we have listened to his wishes and he has joined his two sisters.
LH has blessed me in so many ways, I have met people that I dont think I could ever live without in my life, I am able to help animals in a way that fills my heart, and I adopted my Ko-Ko Khloe and Chanceria Pizzeria!
